Al Zaman Group’s Participation in the FITUR International Tourism Fair – Madrid
Al Zaman Group participated in the FITUR International Tourism Fair, held in Madrid, through the attendance of Mr. Ahmed Shaban, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Al Zaman Group and Member of the Administrative Board of the Iraqi–Spanish Business Council.
This participation came as part of efforts to support and strengthen economic, commercial, and tourism relations between the Republic of Iraq and the Kingdom of Spain. During the event, Mr. Ahmed Shaban visited the distinguished Iraqi Pavilion, which was organized by the Iraqi Association of Travel and Tourism Companies and attracted significant attention from Spanish and international companies and visitors.
During the exhibition, meetings were held with the Chairman of the Iraqi Association of Travel and Tourism Companies, Mr. Haider Al-Dujaili, as well as Mr. Aus, a member of the Iraqi–Spanish Business Council, who played a key role in the success of the Iraqi participation, representing the Council and holding important meetings with several Spanish and international companies interested in the Iraqi market.
Mr. Ahmed Shaban also met with the representative of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Madrid, Mr. Yassar, where the latest developments in cooperation with the Spanish side were discussed, along with ways to encourage Spanish companies to enter the Iraqi market through the Iraqi–Spanish Business Council. Several Spanish companies expressed clear interest in working with the Council, and coordination will take place with Mr. Jaime Montalvo- international Director of Spanish Chamber of Commerce to complete the procedures for obtaining membership.
In addition, Mr. Ahmed Shaban participated in a media interview with Al-Iraqiya TV Channel, during which he highlighted the role of the Iraqi–Spanish Business Council in developing and strengthening bilateral relations across various fields and sectors, particularly the tourism sector. He also emphasized the success of Iraq’s participation in the current edition of FITUR and the notable interest shown by the Spanish side in visiting the tourist destinations presented by the companies participating in the Iraqi Pavilion.
This participation aligns with Al Zaman Group’s strategy to expand its international presence, strengthen economic partnerships, and support initiatives that contribute to the development of relations between Iraq and friendly countries, in a manner that serves sustainable development across various sectors.
